How to maintain your leather costumes?
Leather as such is a beautiful fabric and any leather product whether shoes, clothes, or accessories all look very elegant. Touch the cloth lightly and gently on the leather fabric, hard rubbing can even cause the leather to lose its color or their can also be uneven marks. Once you have cleaned the stain gently then you need to allow the costume or the leather product to dry and allow it to breathe.
In case there is spillage of ink on your leather costume then the best result can be achieved by working to remove the stain as early as possible. It is always preferable to use an ink or stain cleanser; this should then be followed by a leather cleaning product which would enable you to give better results in your cleaning effort. Always remember that you need to dab the fabric with a mixture of water and a non – detergent soap and then allow it to dry.
Sometimes we are almost stuck up as to how to remove a chewing gum in case it is stuck up on the fabric, in such a case you need to follow an entirely different approach from the above one. For the chewing gum removal you need to heat the bubble gum area with a hair drier. Then take a clean white cloth and then rub the chewing gum from the leather surface on to the cloth. In case there are leather marks then quickly apply grease on to the substance.

What are Earth Shoes?
Earth shoes first hit the international scene in the early part of the 1970s. In an era when women’s shoes featured high heels, narrow toes and dangerously skinny arches, the odd looking shoes attracted the attention of the fashion world and the popular media. With their wide toe boxes,"negative" heels and rocker bottoms, they were often referred to as the ugliest shoes ever created.
Like most fads and trends, though, earth shoes had their supporters. Created by a family-owned company in Scandinavia, Earth shoes were seen as a healthy and body-friendly alternative to traditional 'fashion’ footwear. The main feature of the Earth shoe is the 'negative heel’, created by a thick fore sole and thin heel. The bed of the shoe is designed to place the heel lower than the ball and toes of the foot, which, say Earth shoe enthusiasts, encourages better posture and a more natural gait.
Like walking on the beach
Among the innovations that the original Earth shoes made popular are innovations that have been carried through into many other 'healthy’ shoe lines, including many of today’s most popular shoes. Those innovations included:
Wide toe boxes. Unlike the most popular shoes of the era, which featured narrow, pointed toes for both women and men, Earth shoes had round; wide toe boxes that made the shoes look similar to a spatula. For a fashion industry used to shoes designed to make feet look small and dainty, the look was bizarre, and more than one design columnist joked that you might as well wear shoeboxes on your feet and toss out the shoes. The wide toe box serves an important purpose. It allows the toes to spread naturally and grip the 'ground’ as they’re meant to do. Liberating cramped toes alone was enough to make the Earth shoe a popular style.
Negative heel. The second obvious characteristic of the original Earth shoe was the low heel. Not low as in 'under two inches’, but low as in lower than the toe. The foot bed and sole are built in such a way that when standing flat, the heel of the foot is positioned lower than the ball and toes of the foot. This encourages better posture, according to the makers of Earth shoes, and also encourages the calf and other muscles of the legs to work harder.
The reasoning behind the negative heel has to do with the natural barefoot gait, which is a heel-to-toe motion. The publicity for Earth shoes claims that walking in Earth shoes is like walking on the beach, where the weight of the body pushes the heel down into the sand, and then the foot has to roll"uphill" to push off into the next step. You can check the reality of that statement by looking at barefoot footsteps on the beach.
Rocker bottoms. Rather than flat soles, the Earth shoe featured a molded shoe bottom that rocked the foot forward with each step. Again, the reasoning has to do with the natural human gait. Humans are not meant to place the weight of each step on the ball of their foot. Rather the heel absorbs the impact of the step, then the foot"rocks’ forward as the body’s weight moves to center over it. Finally, the heel comes up off the ground and the toes grip to push off into the next step.

Tips :-Although you may have a favorite designer, there's really no need to stick with just one. In fact, there's no need for the pieces to actually be designer. There are plenty of wonderful pieces on the market that are unsigned but certainly make a fashion statement. Mix and match your jewelry to give it character and a little pizazz!
Costume Jewelry, both signed and unsigned, is an affordable way to complete your look. Costume Jewelry can be bought for a low price and has plenty of life. Designer pieces tend to cost a little more, last a little longer, and they usually follow more traditional lines so you can wear them for more than one or two seasons.
Sterling Silver is affordable and very versatile. If you don't want to spend the money for sterling, then purchase some silver plate pieces. Silver is a must have for any wardrobe! You can go from dainty and delicate to large and noticeable. It can be dressed up or down and is acceptable for any event or occasion.
Have some gold plate or gold tone pieces in your wardrobe basics also. 10-14k gold may be a bit too pricey for many but gold plated jewelry is quite affordable and will give you good value for the cost. Gold, like silver, can be dressed up or dressed down and is perfect for a very classy look.
When purchasing rings, you can have great fun - again the choices are endless from large and overwhelming to dainty and feminine. The length and size of your fingers plays an important role in what will look good. For example, long skinny fingers don't look good with huge oversized rings, yet on a woman that has long thicker fingers they look exquisite. Long nails? Short nails? it all makes a difference. Play and see what you like, and what looks good. Also, determine where you will be wearing these rings. For example, if you're working around fine fabrics, you'll not want any rings that have sharp edges that could snag. Your rings are also part of your total statement.
When purchasing necklaces, be certain you know your neck size so that you get a good fit. This is very important when purchasing online as you don't get a chance to try it on. If your neck is average in size then a 16" necklace will look great, however if you have a somewhat larger than average neck then a 16" necklace could be too tight. Measure the length of some of your favourite necklaces you already own. This will give you a good indication of what length you prefer. Opera necklaces which are over 30" are terrific. They can be double wrapped, knotted, or whatever else your imagination comes up with. When choosing colored necklaces, make sure to pick a color that complements your skin tone. It may match your outfit fabulously but if it doesn't match or complement your skin tone your look could be lost.
When purchasing bracelets, you'll need to decide where you're going to wear them, and how noticeable you want them to be. The availability of size and shape is endless - you can go from large bangle bracelets to dainty gem bracelets. If it is a slip-on bracelet, be sure that it will fit over your hand. Make certain to measure your wrist as the fit of a bracelet is very important. Too large and it will look sloppy and may even slide off. Too small and it can constrict your wrist movement.
Your hands are your expressive area and many of us "talk with our hands." (they are also the smallest part of our body!) Try wearing three bracelets on one wrist - its a sign of power. They don't have to match either so step out and do something different. Don't forget to wear a dainty bracelet with your watch.

Large earrings can give you the appearance of losing 10 pounds! (We all love that) Pick something that is in proportion to your size but most women can wear nickle to quarter size without any problem. Pick your earrings to the opposite shape of your face - they will be more complimentary. If you have a round face and wear round earrings your face will appear much rounder.
